Indiana, Maryland, Northwestern, Penn State, and UCLA Claim Weekly Men’s Soccer Honors

Hoosiers’ Swan, Terrapins’ Masereka, Wildcats’ Johnson, Nittany Lions’ Evans, and Bruins’ Solans Ormo collect weekly accolades

Co-Offensive Player of the Week 
Sadam Masereka, Maryland
Sr. – F – Kamala, Uganda – Buddo Secondary School

  • Scored a hat trick in the first half of a 4-3 win over Michigan State to help the Terrapins win the 2025 Big Ten championship
  • It was the first hat trick scored by a Maryland player since 2017 and the first scored in one half since 2005
  • Collects his first Offensive Player of the Week award
  • Last Maryland Offensive Player of the Week: Albi Ndrenika (Nov. 4, 2025)

Co-Offensive Player of the Week 
Sergi Solans Ormo, UCLA
R-So. – F – Lleida, Spain

  • Recorded his second hat trick of the season in UCLA’s 4-2 upset win at No. 15 Washington 
  • Became the first Bruin since Milan Iloski in 2019 to have multiple hat tricks in the same season
  • Collects his second Offensive Player of the Week award of the season
  • Last UCLA Offensive Player of the Week: Sergi Solans Ormo (Oct. 28, 2025)

Defensive Player of the Week  
Andrew Joshnson, Northwestern
Fr. – D – Lee’s Summit, Mo. – Pembroke Hill School

  • Netted his first collegiate goal in a 2-1 win over Ohio State
  • Anchored a defensive effort that held the Buckeyes to just two shots on target
  • Earns his first Defensive Player of the Week award
  • Last Northwestern Defensive Player of the Week: Fritz Volmar (Aug. 26, 2025)

Goalkeeper of the Week  
Jonathan Evans, Penn State
R-Fr. – Spokane, Wash. – Ferris

  • Posted three saves in a 0-0 draw against No. 10 Michigan
  • Notched his fourth shutout of the season
  • Garners his first Goalkeeper of the Week award

Freshman of the Week  
Colton Swan, Indiana
F – Detroit, Mich. – Colorado Connections Academy

  • Scored a pair of goals in the opening 17 minutes of Indiana’s 5-0 win over Rutgers
  • Earns his first Freshman of the Week award
  • Last Indiana Freshman of the Week: Judewellin Michel (Oct. 21, 2025)
