Men’s Soccer Coaches Select Indiana as 2024 Big Ten Favorite
Big Ten unveils 2024 Preseason Poll and Players to Watch
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Indiana Hoosiers have been selected as the favorite to claim their 17th Big Ten Conference title, according to a vote of the league’s coaches released on Wednesday.
Ranked No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll, Indiana was a unanimous first place selection by the conference’s 11 coaches. Penn State was selected second, followed by the Big Ten’s members UCLA and Washington in third and fourth places, respectively, with Michigan State rounding out the top five.
The conference also unveiled the 2024 Big Ten Players to Watch List on Wednesday, as selected by the league’s coaches. Included in the list are 15 student-athletes who earned all-conference recognition in 2023. Among last season’s honorees are six All-Big Ten First Team performers, Indiana’s Patrick McDonald, Samuel Sarver, and Justin Weiss, Michigan State’s Jonathan Stout, and Northwestern’s Collin McCamy and Nigel Prince.
The 2024 Big Ten Men’s Soccer season kicks off this weekend, as nine teams to take the pitch on Thursday, with the remaining two teams kicking off on Friday.
