ROSEMONT, Ill. – Sixteen Big Ten student-athletes from nine schools were selected in the MLS SuperDraft 2025 on Friday afternoon.

Wisconsin’s Dean Boltz led the Big Ten contingent, as the 2024 Big Ten Freshman of the Year was selected third overall by the Chicago Fire. Boltz is the highest draft pick in program history, besting Chris Mueller, who was picked at No. 6 by Orlando City SC in 2018.

Boltz was one of four Big Ten players selected in the first round, joining Indiana defender Jansen Miller, Ohio State midfielder Michael Adedokun, and Michigan defender Jason Bucknor.

This season’s 16 draft picks are the third most in Big Ten history. MLS SuperDraft 2019 saw 19 Big Ten players selected, while 17 Big Ten selections were included in the 2017 draft.
