Big Ten Schools to Compete at ITA Kickoff Weekend
Teams looking to qualify for ITA National Team Indoor Championship
ROSEMONT, Ill. — The second half of the 2025-26 men's college tennis season is underway as schools engage in nonconference dual matches, preparing for the conference schedule ahead.
At the same time, ten teams from the Big Ten have been invited to the ITA Kickoff Weekend (Jan. 23-26), which serves as a qualifier for the ITA National Team Indoor Championship. A total of 56 teams will compete for 14 berths into the national team indoors.
Kickoff Weekend includes five Big Ten programs ranked in the ITA National Poll — No. 6 Ohio State and No. 10 UCLA will host regional qualifiers while No. 21 USC, No. 24 Michigan State and No. 25 Illinois travel to regional sites. Indiana, Michigan, Purdue, Oregon and Washington will also be traveling to regionals.
Kickoff Weekend results/video streams
The fall tennis campaign concluded in November with the NCAA Individual Championships (in its second year as a pilot program). Based on those results, the following Big Ten players earned ITA All-America status: Kenta Miyoshi, Illinois (singles), Max Dahlin, Michigan (singles), Matthew Forbes, Michigan State (singles), Ozan Baris, Michigan State (singles); Max Dahlin/Bjorn Swenson, Michigan (doubles), Nikita Filin/Brandon Carpico, Ohio State (doubles), and Aidan Kim/Bryce Nakashima, Ohio State (doubles).
