Ohio State and Oregon Land Weekly Men’s Tennis Awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Ohio State sophomore Aidan Kim has been named Player of the Week and Oregon freshman Clement Lemire chosen Freshman of the Week as the Big Ten Conference announced its weekly men’s tennis awards on Wednesday. The awards cover competitions that took place between Feb. 7-9.

Player of the Week
Aidan Kim, Ohio State
So. – Milford, Mich. — Florida (NCAA)

• Secured match point in Ohio State’s 4-2 win over Texas A&M on Feb. 7
• Helped the fourth-ranked Buckeyes extend their home win streak to 71 matches with a 4-1 triumph of Baylor on Feb. 9
• Went 2-0 at top-flight singles, recording ranked wins against No. 37 Devin Badenhorst of Baylor (6-2, 7-6) and No. 60 Theo Papamalamis of Texas A&M (6-3, 6-4)
• Ranked 22nd by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association with an 11-4 singles record
• The 2024-25 ITA All-American secures his second Player of the Week honor of the season
• Last Ohio State Player of the Week recipient: Preston Stearns on Nov. 6, 2024
  

Freshman of the Week

• Posted a 4-0 overall record in Oregon’s wins over 2024 NCAA participant Denver and UTSA
• Teamed with fellow freshman Paris Pouatcha on court two to clinch the doubles point in back-to-back matches
• Notched straight-set victories at No. 4 singles, dropping just two games against UTSA
• The French junior doubles champion earns his first Big Ten weekly award
• Becomes first Oregon Duck to capture the Big Ten Freshman of the Week Award
• Last Oregon Big Ten tennis award winner: Paris Pouatcha on Oct. 9, 2024
