Big Ten Statement Regarding Michigan State-Wisconsin Men's Tennis Match

ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Big Ten Conference announced today that the team result of the March 14 men’s tennis match between Michigan State and Wisconsin has been overturned. The action was taken after Michigan State played a lineup different than what was approved by the coaches’ group during the midweek lineup review process, in violation of Big Ten Conference game management policies and procedures.

As a result, the No. 6 singles point is awarded to Wisconsin to result in a 4-3 match victory for the Badgers. Individual student-athletes’ records and rankings will not be impacted.

The Big Ten Conference considers this matter concluded and will have no further comment.
