Big Ten Tennis Season Concludes at NCAA Quarterfinals

UCLA’s run in the NCAA’s came to an end with a 4-1 loss to third-ranked Texas in quarterfinals action May 16 in Waco, Texas. Starting with the Big Ten Tournament, the 16th-ranked Bruins (19-9) had won six-straight matches in the postseason.

The 2024-25 season, which began Sept. 12, saw Ohio State capture its 19th-straight regular season championship while UCLA secured the Big Ten Tournament title. The Big Ten sent eight teams to the NCAA Tournament — UCLA, Ohio State, Michigan State, USC, Michigan, Illinois, Washington and Nebraska.

In the fall, Ozan Baris of Michigan State and the Michigan duo of Gavin Young and Benjamin Kittay reached the NCAA Finals. All-three earned ITA All-American status along with Aidan Kim of Ohio State (singles), Spencer Johnson of UCLA (singles), Kenta Miyoshi of Illinois (singles), Aadarsh Tripathi and Alexander Hoogmartens of UCLA (doubles) and Bryce Nakashima and William Jensen of Ohio State (doubles).
