Ohio State Claims Big Ten Weekly Tennis Honor

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Fifth-year Cannon Kingsley of Ohio State has been named Big Ten Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played Feb. 2-4.

5th – Northport, N.Y.
  • Helped top-ranked Ohio State to wins against No. 3 Virginia (Feb. 2) and No. 13 Wake Forest (Feb. 4) in Columbus
  • Recorded wins at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles (with JJ Tracy) as Ohio State shutout Virginia, 7-0, in a rematch of last year’s NCAA Final
  • Rallied from a set down to defeat 54th-ranked DK Suresh Ekambaram at No. 1 singles and clinched the doubles point in Ohio State’s 6-1 win over Wake Forest
  • Listed 67th nationally in the latest ITA singles rankings
  • The two-time Big Ten Player of the Year earns his sixth Big Ten weekly award
