UCLA and USC Win Weekly Tennis Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its men’s tennis weekly awards for matches played April 11-13.

Player of the Week
Peter Makk, USC
Sr. – Budapest, Hungary — Csanadi Arpad Sportschool

• Produced a 4-0 overall record (2-0 singles, 2-0 doubles) for No. 26 USC
• Competing at No. 1 singles, defeated a pair of ranked opponents — No. 31 Aristotelis Thanos of Michigan State (6-2, 6-3) and No. 80 Will Cooksey of Michigan (6-1, 6-2)
• Teamed with Tristan Bradley to win two doubles matches on center court, securing the doubles point against Michigan State
• Clinched match point in a 4-0 win over No. 21 Michigan on Senior Day
• Won 36 of 47 games played for a .766 winning percentage
• Chosen Player of the Week for the second time in 2024-25, previously winning the award on Feb. 5, 2025

Freshman of the Week
Rudy Quan, UCLA
Fr. – Thousand Oaks, Calif. — Century Academy

• Finished 2-1 overall on the week as No. 32 UCLA swept No. 21 Michigan (5-0 result) and No. 28 Michigan State (4-1 result) in Los Angeles
• Defeated 80th-ranked Will Cooksey of Michigan (6-3, 6-3) and 9th-ranked Ozan Baris of Michigan State (6-1, 6-2) at No. 1 singles
• Moved up 11 places to No. 23 in the ITA Singles Rankings
• Has won five of his last six completed matches and stands 12-6 on the season
• Earns Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season
• Last Bruin tabbed Big Ten Freshman of the Week: Kaylan Bigun (March 12, 2025)
