Wolverines’ Young qualifies for NCAA Singles Championship
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Michigan senior Gavin Young has been named Big Ten Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played Nov. 7-10.

- Advanced to the semifinals in singles and doubles at the inaugural ITA Central Sectional Championships, held Nov. 7-10, at Fort Worth, Texas
- Earned a qualifying spot into the 2024 NCAA Singles Championship — will be making his third-straight appearance in the event next week in Waco, Texas
- Won three singles matches at the Central Sectional, defeating Max Sheldon of Michigan State, 114th-ranked Anton Shepp of Nebraska and 41st-ranked Isaac Becroft of Oklahoma State
- Teamed with Bjorn Swenson in doubles to claim wins against Oklahoma State and the 54th-ranked duo of Max Sheldon and Matthew Forbes of Michigan State
- The All-Big Ten First Team selection earns his third career player of the week award and second of the season
