Weekly Baseball Honors Awarded to USC and Washington

ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Big Ten Conference has announced its baseball weekly awards for games played April 22-27.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AJ Guerrero, Washington
Sr. — OF — Fife, Wash. — Fife HS

• Batted .706 (12-for-17) over a four-game stretch, recording four home runs (including two grand slams) and 13 RBI
• Helped Washington to a 3-1 record and its fifth-straight Big Ten series win with a pair of victories against Northwestern
• Compiled a .714 on-base percentage and slugged 1.471 with 25 total bases
• Did not strike out in 17 at-bats; finished the week with eight runs scored
• Becomes first Husky to be named Big Ten Player of the Week

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Caden Aoki, USC
Sr. — S-RHP — Huntington Beach, Calif. — Notre Dame (NCAA)

• Tossed nine innings of two-hit ball in USC’s 6-1 win over Minnesota on April 26
• Took a no-hitter into the eighth inning before allowing a single — at one point, retired 15 batters in a row
• Fanned nine batters and allowed just one earned run in recording USC’s first complete-game, two-hitter since 2015
• Held the Gophers to a .069 batting average while logging a 0.44 WHIP
• Earns his second Big Ten Pitcher of the Week certificate, having previously been recognized on March 3, 2025

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Andrew Johnson, USC
Fr. — R-RHP — San Juan Capistrano, Calif. — Capistrano Valley Christian HS

• Amassed a 0.00 ERA over two relief appearances, holding opponents to three hits while fanning seven over 8.1 innings of work
• Earned the win in USC’s 16-6 win at Minnesota, entering the game with the Trojans trailing 6-5 before throwing 6.1 scoreless innings with two hits and no walks allowed
• Held Long Beach State scoreless over two innings, striking out three
• Receives his first Big Ten weekly accolade
• Last Trojan chosen Big Ten Freshman of the Week: Grant Govel (Feb. 24, 2025)
