Iowa, Minnesota Claim Weekly Men’s Cross Country Awards

Hawkeyes’ Knepp and Gophers’ Sutter earn weekly merits

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Cross Country weekly award winners for the week of Sept. 17-24, 2025.  

Athlete of the Week  
Luke Knepp, Iowa 
RS-Sophomore – Bettendorf, Iowa – Pleasant Valley, Iowa – Major: Pre-business 

  • Was the top finisher for the Hawkeyes at the Roy Griak Invite 
  • Placed 28th with a time of 26:07.3 in the 8k 
  • Last Iowa Athlete of the Week: Nathan Mylenek (Sept. 11, 2019) 

 
Freshman of the Week 
Nolan Sutter, Minnesota 
Freshman – Chaska, Minn. – Chaska High School – Major: Undecided 

  • Minnesota’s highest individual finisher at the Roy Griak Invitational 
  • Clocked an 8k lifetime best of 25:07.3 to finish 5th  
  • This marks Minnesota’s first men’s cross country Freshman of the Week award
