ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Cross Country weekly award winners for competitions that occurred between Oct. 7-14.  

Athlete of the Week  
Simeon Birnbaum, Oregon 
Senior – Rapid City, Stevens High School 

• Won the men's 8K at the Bill Dellinger Invitational with a time of 23:05.5 

• Beat the field by more than 27 seconds and led a quartet of Oregon runners in the top 10 

• Helped Oregon win the team title 

• Last Oregon Athlete of the Week Award: Tayson Echohawk (Sept. 30, 2026) 

 
Freshman of the Week 
Grady Lenn, Wisconsin 
Freshman – De Pere, Wis. – De Pere High School  

• Finished 54th at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational with a time of 23:33.1 

• Helped Wisconsin to a ninth-place finish by being the second Badger to cross the finish line 

• Lenn was the top Big Ten freshman at the meet and ranked and fifth nationally   

• This marks Glenn's third Freshman of the Week Award this season. Last: Sept. 23, 2026
