Iowa and Nebraska Net Big Ten Weekly Women’s Basketball Awards

Player of the Week

Caitlin Clark, Iowa

Sr. – G – West Des Moines, Iowa – Dowling Catholic – Major: Business

• Averaged 28.0 points, 10.5 assists and 7.5 rebounds in a pair of Iowa wins

• Registered her fourth triple-double of the season behind 26 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds against Purdue

• Dropped 30 points, 11 assists and five rebounds to lead the Hawkeyes past No. 14/13 Indiana

• Had her 46th career game with at least 30 points, the most in Iowa women’s basketball history

• Earns her 25th career Big Ten Player of the Week award (all-time leader in conference history)

• Last Iowa Player of the Week: Caitlin Clark (Jan. 8, 2024)

Big Ten Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Mallory Heyer, MINN: Tallied 18.5 points and 6.0 rebounds during Minnesota’s 2-0 week, featuring a career-best six three-pointers against Michigan  

Alexis Markowski, NEB: Earned back-to-back double-doubles against Illinois (14 points, 15 rebounds) and Minnesota (17 points, 14 rebounds)

Bri McDaniel, MD: Paced the Terrapins with 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.5 steals over two games, including a career-high 25 points and seven assists versus Purdue

Freshman of the Week

Natalie Potts, Nebraska

F – O’Fallon, Mo. – Incarnate Word Academy – Major: Business Administration

• Chipped in 9.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals during Nebraska’s matchups with Illinois and Minnesota

• Had eight points, three rebounds and three steals versus the Fighting Illini

• Against the Gophers, she added 10 points and six rebounds for her 11th double-figure scoring effort this season

• Earns her fifth Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor
