Nebraska and Purdue Claim Big Ten Weekly Women’s Basketball Awards

Player of the Week

Jaz Shelley, Nebraska

Gr. – G – Moe, Australia – Berwick College – Major: Journalism

• Averaged 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in Nebraska’s two wins last week

• Tallied 10 points, six rebounds and four assists at Michigan

• Scored 10 of her season-high 23 points in the final five minutes to help the Huskers erase a 14-point deficit and upset No. 2 Iowa, tying the highest-ranked team Nebraska has ever beaten

• Went 4-for-4 at the free throw line in the final 19 seconds to seal the victory

• Also had five assists, three rebounds and a steal against the Hawkeyes

• Earns her first career Big Ten Player of the Week award

Big Ten Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Hannah Stuelke, IOWA: Poured in a career-high 47 points on 17-of-20 shooting from the field versus Penn State to break the Carver-Hawkeye Arena record in points

Chloe Moore-McNeil, IND: Earned the first triple-double of her career on 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists against Michigan State, the fourth triple-double in program history

Serah Williams, WIS: Set career marks in points (31), rebounds (15) and steals (4) against Penn State

Co-Freshman of the Week

Natalie Potts, Nebraska

F – O’Fallon, Mo. – Incarnate Word Academy – Major: Business Administration

• Recorded 13.0 points and 4.5 rebounds during Nebraska’s two victories

• Put up 12 points and three rebounds against the Wolverines

• Added 14 points, six rebounds and two assists, including eight points and five boards in the fourth quarter, to take down No. 2 Iowa

• Earns her sixth Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor

Co-Freshman of the Week

Mary Ashley Stevenson, Purdue

F – New York City, N.Y. – The Dalton School – Major: Communications

• Registered 20.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in two games for Purdue

• Posted a career-high 25 points, the most by a Purdue freshman since the 2010-11 campaign, and nine rebounds versus Illinois

• Also went a perfect 9-for-9 at the charity stripe, the first Boilermaker rookie to do so since the 2009-10 season

• Shot 77.8 percent (7-of-9) for 16 points with an assist, steal and block against Indiana

• Earns her second Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor
