Minnesota Selected for 2025 WBIT Field

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Minnesota will represent the Big Ten Conference after being chosen to participate in the 32-team Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT), which is in its second year. The Golden Gophers earned a No. 2 seed for upcoming event.
WBIT games will be played March 20 (first round), March 23 (second round) and March 27 (quarterfinals), with the highest-seeded teams hosting games. The WBIT semifinals and final will be played March 31 and April 2 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. ESPN will broadcast all WBIT games, with the preliminary rounds held on ESPN+. The semifinals will air on ESPNU at 2:30 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. ET, respectively, and the championship game will air on ESPN2 at 6 p.m. ET.
Minnesota is postseason bound for the second season in a row. Due to a facility scheduling conflict, the Golden Gophers will make their way to Toledo, Ohio to take on Toledo on Thursday, March 20. Minnesota is headed into its 18th postseason appearance and advanced to the championship game of the WNIT last season.
Illinois won the inaugural competition last year to claim its first-ever postseason title with a 71-57 victory over Villanova.
