Rutgers Earns Bid to 2025 WNIT

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Rutgers accepted a bid for the postseason to participate in the 48-team field of the 2025 Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT). The Scarlet Knights were an at-large qualifier for the 27th edition of the tournament. The addition of Rutgers brings the Big Ten’s total to 14 teams competing across three postseason tournaments.

Rutgers earned a first round bye and will face the winner of the matchup between Army and Bryant, which takes place on Thursday, March 20. The Scarlet Knights will open the second round March 23-25 and the host site is still to be determined. Rutgers has made two appearances in the WNIT, the last being in 2016, and holds a 7-1 record. The Scarlet Knight were crowned champions in 2014 after defeated UTEP.
