Big Ten Announces 2023-24 Women's Basketball Conference Slate
ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference announced Thursday a full breakdown of its 126 women’s basketball conference matchups for all 14 member institutions for the 2023-24 season, as revealed live on the Big Ten Network.
Each Big Ten Conference member institution will play an 18-game conference schedule for the fifth time in six seasons, facing five opponents both home and away and playing the eight remaining member institutions once. Of the single-play opponents, member institutions will play four at home and four on the road.
The Big Ten Conference season tips off on Saturday, Dec. 9, as Rutgers visits Indiana, while Michigan State plays host to Nebraska. The remaining 10 teams will open conference play on Sunday, Dec. 10, before the league slate breaks for the Christmas holiday. Conference action will resume on Saturday, December 30 with a nine-game slate. The league schedule will conclude on Sunday, March 3 with all 14 teams in action. The focus will then turn to the Target Center in Minneapolis for the 31st Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament, scheduled for March 6-10.
Indiana will enter the 2023-24 campaign as defending Big Ten champion, after going 16-2 in conference play last season. Iowa raised its second consecutive Big Ten Tournament trophy after topping Ohio State 105-72 in the 2023 Big Ten tournament final.
