Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio State Earn Women’s Gymnastics Weekly Honors

Co-Gymnasts of the Week
Abby Heiskell, Michigan
Gr. – Charlotte, N.C. – Marvin Ridge
  • Won the all-around title on Feb. 3 at the Rutgers quad meet with a 39.800, the fifth-highest score in Michigan history and the fourth-best score nationally this season
  • Recorded a perfect 10.0 on the vault, the second of her career, to share the title with teammate Sierra Brooks
  • Earned the beam title with a career-best 9.950, before scoring a 9.925 and taking second place on both uneven bars and floor
  • The Academic All-Big Ten honoree earns her second career Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award
  • Last Michigan Gymnast of the Week: Sierra Brooks (Feb. 1, 2023)
 
Mya Hooten, Minnesota
Jr. – Woodbury, Minn. – Chanhassen
  • Posted a career-high all-around score of 39.675 to take home four individual event titles and help the Gophers defeat visiting Illinois on Feb. 4
  • Earned her fifth career perfect 10.0 on floor for the event crown, accounting for all five of the program’s perfect marks in that event
  • Finished at the top of the podium on vault (9.975) and bars (9.875), while taking fifth on beam (9.825)
  • The Academic All-Big Ten honoree collects her first career Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honor
  • Last Minnesota Gymnast of the Week: Ona Loper (March 8, 2022)
 
Co-Event Specialists of the Week
JerQuavia Henderson, Iowa

Sr. – Peoria, Ill. – Dunlap
  • Recorded a 9.875 or better on all three of her events, highlighted by a pair of event titles, to help the Hawkeyes win at Nebraska on Monday
  • Finished at the top of the podium on vault and floor, with scores of 9.850 and 9.925, respectively
  • Posted a 9.875 on beam to take fourth place and contribute to a season-high team event total of 49.300
  • Collects her second career Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week honor and first of the season
  • Last Iowa Event Specialist of the Week: Linda Zivat (Feb. 1, 2023)
 
Ella Hodges, Ohio State
Sr. – Winchester, Mass. – Winchester
  • Collected a pair of podium finishes to help the Buckeyes post the second-highest team total in program history (197.575) in Sunday’s win at Maryland
  • Scored a career-high 9.925 as the anchor on floor to win the event
  • Added a 9.900 on beam for third place and contributing to a program-record event total of 49.525
  • The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree collects her first career Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week honor
  • Last Ohio State Event Specialist of the Week: Sarah Miller (Feb. 25, 2013)
 
Freshman of the Week
Payton Harris, Ohio State
Franklin, Wis. – Franklin
  • Earned her second-best score of the season in the all-around with a 39.475 to take home the title and help the Buckeyes to a win over Maryland with the team's second-best score in program history (197.525)
  • Collected a pair of individual event podium finishes, scoring a 9.900 on both vault and beam for first and third place, respectively  
  • Added a 9.850 on floor for fifth place and a 9.825 on bars for sixth place
  • Earns her second Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor
  • Last Ohio State Freshman of the Week: Payton Harris (Jan. 11, 2023)
