Michigan State and UCLA Earn Trips to 2025 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships

ROSEMONT, Ill. – UCLA and Michigan State will represent the Big Ten Conference in Fort Worth, Texas after earning spots in the semifinals of the 2025 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships. The semifinals are slated for 4:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET on April 17 inside Dickies Arena and will air on ESPN2. The NCAA Finals on April 19 will be televised on ABC at 4 p.m. ET.

The fifth-seeded Bruins finished second in the Utah Regional Final with a score of 197.625, just two-tenths behind No. 4 Utah (197.825). UCLA last made the semifinals in 2023.

No. 8 seed Michigan State posted a 198.000 to place second and advance out of the Pennsylvania Regional Final behind top-seeded LSU (198.050). The Spartans had only made one appearance in the NCAA Championships prior to this year, dating back to 1988.

The Big Ten has three individual qualifiers competing in the NCAA Championships. Michigan’s Sophia Diaz will compete on vault and rotate with UCLA, while Minnesota’s Mya Hooten will rotate with Missouri and compete on floor exercise. Washington’s Mary McDonough is taking part in the all-around and will rotate with Florida.

The Big Ten is back in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2022 when Minnesota and Michigan made the trip. UCLA and Michigan State are joining Utah and LSU in the second semifinal on April 17.
