USC Sweeps Weekly Women’s Indoor Track and Field Awards
Trojans' Whyte, Erasmus and Awoleye claim weekly honors
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 4th –11th, 2026.
Track Athlete of the Week
Madison Whyte, USC
Junior – Sprints – Newport News, Va. – Major: Pharmacology & Drug Development
- Won the 400m at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic with a time of 50.82
- Her time is the fastest in the NCAA this season, a Big Ten record, the facility record, and second-fastest in school history
- Also ran a 50.21 split on the anchor leg of the women’s 4x400m relay to overtake UCLA and secure a first-place finish for USC
- Named USTFCCCA Women’s National Athlete of the Week on Monday
- This marks USC’s first Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award
Field Athlete of the Week
Ashley Erasmus, USC
Sophomore – Throws – Mbombela, South Africa – Major: Undecided
- Won shot put at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic with a new PR of 17.74m
- The mark is the second-best throw from a Trojan all-time behind Brittany Mann’s mark of 17.78m
- This marks USC’s first Indoor Field Athlete of the Week Award
Freshman of the Week
Oluwatosin Awoleye, USC
Freshman – Mid-distance –Mobile, Ala. – Major: Health and Human Sciences
- In her 600m debut, won the New Mexico Collegiate Classic with a time of 1:30.17
- Led by over a second to beat a field of Iowa and UCLA upperclassmen
- Came within a second of the program and freshman record set at 1:29.25
- This marks USC’s first Indoor Freshman of the Week award
