Big Ten Reveals Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship Honors
Trojans’ DeFrand, Hawkeyes’ Bikembo and Ducks’ Schumacher claim accolades

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced the 2025 Big Ten Women’s Indoor Track and Field postseason individual award recipients on Wednesday, as selected by the conference’s head coaches.
USC’s Dajaz DeFrand was selected as the Women’s Track Athlete of the Year, while Washington’s Amanda Moll was selected as the Field Athlete of the Year and Iowa’s Pauline Bikembo was named Freshman of the Year.
DeFrand won an individual title and First-Team All-America honors at the 2025 NCAA Division l Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 60 meter sprint with a personal best and facility record of 7.09 seconds. She also earned Big Ten Track Athlete of the Championships earlier this month.
Moll wrapped up her outstanding season by winning an individual pole vault title at the NCAAs with a meet record mark of 4.70m (15-5) and earning First-Team All-America honors. The Big Ten Field Athlete of the Championships set the NCAA record and became the first ever collegian athlete with a 16-foot clearance in February. She then broke her own record to hold off her sister, Hana, with a 4.91m (16-1 ¼) in the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Bikembo had a strong freshman campaign that included First-Team All-America honors, All-Big Ten First Team, and Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. At the NCAAs, she claimed fourth place in the pentathlon with a personal best score of 4331.
Earlier this month, the Big Ten announced the award recipients for Track Athlete of the Championships, Field Athlete of the Championships and Coach of the Year, as well as the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honorees.
