Minnesota, Nebraska and Washington Net Weekly Women’s Indoor Track and Field Accolades

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb 19-26, 2025.  

Track Athlete of the Week  
Amina Maatoug, Washington 
Junior – Distance – Leiden, Netherlands – Major: Postbaccalaureate Study 

• Recorded a time of 4:26.39 in the Mile finishing as the top collegian at the BU Terrier Last Chance meet
• Her time shattered the previous Washington school record in the mile
• Her time is also No. 8 in the NCAA this season and No. 10 in NCAA history
• This marks Washington’s first Indoor Track Athlete of the Week Award 

Field Athlete of the Week 
Anthonett Nabwe, Minnesota 
Rs-Sophomore – Throws – Jamestown, N.D. – Major: Kinesiology 

• Won the Snowshoe Open weight throw to close out the indoor regular season with a mark of 23.56m (77-3 ¾)
• Her mark is a lifetime-best and NCAA-leading mark this season Won all seven meets she participated in for weight throw this season
• Also captured the shot put win with her second-best throw of the indoor season with a mark of 17.16m (56-3 ¾)
• This marks Nabwe’s fourth Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. Last: Feb. 12, 2025 
   

Freshman of the Week 
Jacelyn Neighbors, NEB 
Freshman – Pole Vault – Fate, Texas – Major: Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics 

• Won the Nebraska Tune-Up with a mark of 4.28m (14-0 ½)
• Her mark is a personal-best and second-best mark in Nebraska school history Her mark also sits atop Big Ten freshman
• This marks Nebraska’s first Indoor Freshman of the Week Award
