Ohio State and Penn State Claim Weekly Wrestling Awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its wrestling weekly awards for competition taking place January 21-28, 2026.

Wrestler of the Week
Nick Feldman, Ohio State

285 pounds – Jr. – Quarryville, Pa. – Malvern Prep

·       Earned a pair of top 10 road wins to help the No. 2 Buckeyes remain undefeated in dual competition at 14-0

·       Started the weekend with an 11-2 major decision victory against No. 10 Koy Hopke of Minnesota in a 29-9 win over the No. 7 Golden Gophers

·       With Ohio State trailing at No. 6 Nebraska, 16-14, Feldman went to overtime against No. 4 AJ Ferrari and came away with a 4-1 win in sudden victory go give the Buckeyes a thrilling 17-16 win

·       Last Ohio State Wrestler of the Week honoree: Carson Kharchla (Dec. 18, 2025)

Freshman of the Week
Marcus Blaze, Penn State

133 pounds – Perrysburg, Ohio – Perrysburg

·       Went 2-0 this week, helping to spark No. 1 Penn State to two straight shutout victories in less than 24 hours

·       Began the weekend with a 19-4 (5:44) technical fall over Indiana's Blaine Frazer in PSU's 48-0 win over the Hoosiers in Rec Hall on Friday night

·       Dominated No. 15 Braxton Brown, using four takedowns to roll to a 15-3 major decision, one of many highlights in PSU's 51-0 victory at Maryland on Saturday afternoon

·       Blaze is now 15-0 overall with four pins, five techs and five majors
