In his first match of the weekend, Smith defeated No. 19 Jaden Bullock (Michigan), 4-1, scoring the decisive takedown with just a few seconds remaining and clinching Maryland’s first top-10 win since 2009
Followed up his dramatic win on Friday with a quick pin (1:17) on Sunday against Michigan State's Lucas Daly

Took Spartan Max Vanadia down three times in less than sixty seconds before locking up a cradle and getting the fall at the 0:56 mark
Improved to 10-0 on the year with five pins and five technical falls
