Illinois, Nebraska and Wisconsin Claim Women’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

Swimmer of the Week  
Sydney Stoll, Illinois 
Sr. – Hartland, Wis. – Arrowhead – Major: Finance 

• Won all six individual races she swam over the weekend against Iowa and Nebraska  
• Against Iowa, Stoll finished first in the 100 freestyle in 50.81, first in the 100 butterfly in 54.92 and first in the 100 backstroke in 55.09 
• Versus Nebraska, Stoll touched first in the 100 freestyle (49.86), 100 butterfly (53.97) and the 200 freestyle (1:47.54) 
• Stoll broke her own school record in the 100 butterfly  
• Was a part of the winning 400 medley relay against Iowa that clocked the program’s 10^th-fastest time (3:43.07)

Diver of the Week 
Abby Baxter, Nebraska 
So. - Coppell, Texas – Cambridge School of Dallas – Major: Advertising & Public Relations 

• Swept a pair of diving titles in Nebraska’s Big Ten dual win against Illinois, 174.5-125.5 
• Scored a 319.20 to win the 3-meter springboard and added a 297.00 to claim the 1-meter crown 
• Last Nebraska Diver of the Week: Abby Baxter (Jan. 31, 2024) 

Freshman of the Week 
Maggie Wanezek, Wisconsin 
Brookfield, Wis. – Brookfield East – Major: Psychology 

• Earned an NCAA B cut in her only individual event of the day, winning the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:53.69  
• In both relays, Wanezek earned first place finished, as the backstroke leg in the 400 medley relay with a split of 51.55 and a relay time of 3:29.84 for an NCAA A cut time 
• In the 200 free relay, the freshman split a 22.37 as the third leg of the winning relay
