Rutgers and Minnesota Claim Women’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

Scarlet Knights’ Urkiel and Prasanto and Golden Gophers’ Wanner earn weekly accolades

Swimmer of the Week  
Molly Urkiel, Rutgers 
Gr. – Rosemount, Minn. – Rosemount – Master’s: Applied Psychology 

  • Set two Rutgers school record and collected three NCAA B Cut times at the Minnesota Invite 

  • Urkiel set the school record in the 400 IM taking 3rd with a B cut of 4:13.49, breaking the former mark of 4:13.85 set by Morgan Pfaff in 2014. It was a 3.24 second time drop from her previous PR 

  • Urkiel also broke the 200 breaststroke record taking fourth with a B cut of 2:10.90. She bested the record of 2:11.02 set by Rachel Stoddard in 2016 and dropped 1.75 seconds off her previous PR 

  • Urkiel also collected a B cut in the 100 breaststroke, taking fourth and swimming to the fifth-fastest time in school history in 1:01.07 

  • Swam in the A final of the 200 IM and finished fifth as she swam to the second-fastest time in RU history in 2:00.49 

  • In the relays, she swam anchor on the sixth-place 800 free (7:22.14) and fifth-place 400 medley relay (3:41.95) and was also a member of the fifth-place 200 free relay (1:34.53) and 6th-place 400 free relay (3:26.51), all of which recorded season bests

Diver of the Week 
Holly Prasanto, Rutgers 
Sr. - Sheffield, England – Silverdale School – Major: Psychology & Cognitive Science 

  • Prasanto was crowned the 3M champion at the invite as it was a clean sweep of the top six positions for the Scarlet Knights, capturing the third-highest score in RU history with a zone score of 353.55 

  • Finished second in 1-meter with a 282.90 

  • During prelim action, Prasanto was the top finisher as her zone score and personal best of 304.50 gave her the sixth-highest score in Rutgers school history

Freshman of the Week  
Livi Wanner, Minnesota 
Waukesha, Wis. – Waukesha West 

  • Placed second in the 50 free with an NCAA B Cut time of 22.21 

  • Also finished second in the 200 free relay (1:30.09), 400 medley relay (3:17.95) 

  • Placed third in the 100 free with a 49.13 (NCAA B Cut) 

  • In the prelims of the 200 free, she set a new personal best of 1:48.17
