UCLA, Iowa and Minnesota Claim First Women’s Swimming & Diving Awards of 2024-25 Season
Bruins’ Jih-Schiff, Hawkeyes’ Hughbanks and Gophers’ Wanner earn weekly accolades
Swimmer of the Week
Ana Jih-Schiff, UCLA
Sr. – Danville, Calif. – San Ramon Valley HS – Major: Psychology
Led the Bruins to the Fresno State Invite team title over the weekend in Fresno, Calif.
Earned a total of three event wins on the weekend and helped the Bruins to six different podium place finishes between relays and individual events
Won the 100 IM, placed third in the 200 breast and won the 200 IM, individually, and helped three relays earn podiums over the course of the weekend
Helped the 200 free relay take first, helped the 400 free relay to a second-place finish, and finished third as part of the 200 medley relay
Jih-Schiff is the first UCLA women’s swimmer to earn Big Ten Swimmer of the Week
Diver of the Week
Makayla Hughbanks, Iowa
Sr. - Bettendorf, Iowa – Bettendorf – Major: Enterprise Leadership
Won the one-meter and three-meter dives in Iowa's dual at UNI to open the season
Placed first with 289.73 points in the one-meter dive
Finished in first place with 305.25 points in the three-meter event

Freshman of the Week
Livi Wanner, Minnesota
Waukesha, Wis. – Waukesha West – Major: Undeclared
In her first meet as a Gopher, she was the anchor for the winning 200 medley relay team (22.87 split 1:42.65 total) and 400 free relay (third leg) (50.63 split 3:24.46 total)
Also won the women's 50 free (23.11) and 100 free (50.79)
