Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska Gather Women’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

Women’s Swimmer of the Week

Gena Jorgenson, Nebraska

So. – Aberdeen, S.D. – Central – Major: Biological Sciences

  • Placed first in the 500 freestyle with an NCAA B cut time of 4:43.87

  • Her 500 freestyle time is now the fourth fastest in Nebraska school history

  • Placed first in the 1,650 freestyle with an NCAA B cut time of 16:15.82, 15 seconds before runner-up

  • Placed third in the 400 IM with an NCAA B cut time of 4:16.05

  • Placed sixth in the 200 backstroke (2:00.14)

  • Placed first in the 800 freestyle relay (7:18.69)

  • Placed second in the 400 medley relay (3:40.45)

  • Earns her first career Big Ten Women’s Swimmer of the Week award

  • Last Nebraska Women’s Swimmer of the Week: Autumn Haebig (Dec. 15, 2021)

Women’s Diver of the Week

Vivi Del Angel, Minnesota

  • Placed first in the 3 meter with an NCAA zone qualifying score of 367.85

  • Placed first in the platform with an NCAA zone qualifying score of 331.90

  • Placed second in the 1 meter with an NCAA zone qualifying score of 290.85

  • Earns her first career Big Ten Women’s Diver of the Week award

Olivia Swalley, Iowa

  • Placed first in the 200 breaststroke with an NCAA B cut time of 2:12.92

  • Her 200 breaststroke ranks fourth all-time at Iowa

  • Placed first in the 200 IM with an NCAA B cut time of 1:59.15

  • Her 200 IM ranks third in Iowa school history

  • Placed first in the 400 IM with an NCAA B cut time of 4:14.72

  • Her 400 IM ranks second all-time at Iowa

  • Placed first in the 400 free relay (3:20.47)

  • Placed first in the 200 medley relay (1:39.59)

  • Placed first in the 400 medley relay (3:38.28)

  • Ranks sixth in Iowa record books in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.76) and the 200 free realy (1:31.46)
