UCLA Wins 2024 Big Ten Women’s Soccer Tournament Title
Bruins claim title in inaugural Big Ten season
St. Louis, Mo. - As part of its inaugural season in the Big Ten, the UCLA women’s soccer team claimed its first Big Ten Tournament Title on Sunday at CITYPARK in St. Louis, defeating Rutgers, 5-0. With the win, the Bruins will be the Big Ten’s automatic qualifier for the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
Senior defender Quincy McMahon was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament after tallying three assists in three games, including two in the Championship match.
The Bruins’ five goals were a season-high and the most goals ever scored in a Big Ten Tournament title match. Goal scorers for the Bruins included Val Vargas, Taylor Cheatham, Jordan Geis, Lily Boyden and Sophie Reale.
UCLA outshot Rutgers 15-6 and held the 5-1 advantage in corner opportunities.
The 64-team NCAA Tournament bracket will be announced on NCAA.com on Monday, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m. ET.
