UCLA and Washington Gather Women’s Tennis Weekly Honors

Player of the Week 
Erika Matsuda, Washington 
Sr. – Yokohama, Japan 

• Qualified for the NCAA Individual Championships in singles and doubles at the ITA West Sectional Championships with a 6-0 record with three wins over ranked opponents 
• Earned a three-set win in the Round of 32 against #52 Emilija Terijonaita (Arizona State) 7-5, 1-6, 6-4. Secured a win over #125 Greta Greco Lucchina (California) in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-4 to secure a berth to the NCAA singles competition 
• Alongside doubles partner Carina Syrtveit, earned a win over #58 Eva Alvarez Sande/Maxine Murphy (Washington State), 6-3, 6-1 in the Round of 16 on their way to an undefeated weekend

Freshman of the Week 
Mayu Crossley, UCLA 
Tokyo, Japan 

• Earned her first career NCAA Championships berth with a strong showing at the ITA West Sectionals in Seattle 
• Won three singles matches in three days, starting with a three-set decision over No. 109 Charlotte Keitel of San Diego 
• Beat Shachf Liberman of UC Santa Barbara and Tilde Jagare of Oregon in straight-set results to reach the semifinals and qualify for the NCAA tournament
