Minnesota and Ohio State Earn Women’s Tennis Weekly Honors

Player of the Week 
Aiva Schmitz, Minnesota 
Sr. – New Auburn, Wis.   

• Led Minnesota to a 2-0 start to open the season, finishing 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles 
• Playing at the No. 1 singles spot, Schmitz defeated No. 45 Maria de la Paz Alberto, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 
• Closed out Friday with a 6-0, 6-4 win over North Dakota’s Ethel Li and picked up a doubles victory, teaming with Nora Knezevic for a 6-1 win

• In her collegiate debut, Johnson clinched the Buckeyes’ win over Iowa to send Ohio State to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships 
• Earned a 6-0, 6-3 win against Iowa’s Sally Xu
