Iowa, Washington and Wisconsin Share Women’s Tennis Weekly Honors

Co-Player of the Week

• Went 3-1 on the weekend with three ranked victories (2-0 in singles at No. 1 flight and 1-1 in doubles at No. 1), leading Iowa to a pair of 4-3 wins over Northwestern and Illinois  
• Beat No. 69 Margot Phathala of Northwestern, 6-3, 7-5 and clinched the match with a three-set win over No. 34 McKenna Schaefbauer, 7-5, 6-7 (0), 7-6 (5) for her highest ranked singles win of the season  
• Mack and Daianne Hayashida beat No. 86 Bucher/Xu of Illinois, 6-4, to clinch the doubles point. It was the fourth ranked win for the doubles pair this season  
• Last Iowa Player of the Week: Tereza Dejnozkova (March 19, 2025)

• Helped Washington improve to 11-0 with three ranked wins over the weekend, marking the best start to a season in Washington women’s tennis program history  
• Alongside Carina Syrtveit, earned a pair of ranked wins in doubles, beating No. 62 Nguyen/Frankowska of Rutgers, 6-3 and No. 23 Kovacevic/Ghirardato of Maryland, 6-3 
• Clinched the Maryland match with a 6-2, 6-1 singles win against No. 89 Oliwia Orlinska 
• Improved to 5-0 in singles on the No. 1 court
