Penn State and Ohio State Earn Women’s Tennis Weekly Awards

Player of the Week 
Maelie Monfils, Penn State  
Jr. – Paris, France 

• Went 3-0 against Indiana and Purdue  
• In singles, Monfils took down Indiana’s Alessandra Teodosescu, 6-3, 6-4, on court one 
• In doubles, Monfils paired with Olivia Dorner for two ranked victories on court one. Against Indiana, the duo beat No. 84 Teodosescu and Hi’lani Williams from Indiana and No. 55 Ece Gencer and Ida Clement from Purdue, 6-1 
• The pairing now has six ranked wins during the 2025-26 campaign

Freshman of the Week 
Flora Johnson, Ohio State 
London, England 

• Went 2-0 over the weekend to help the Buckeyes pick up two Big Ten road wins and improve to 10-1 in conference play  
• Went 2-0 in doubles with two ranked wins on court one, both clinching the doubles point 
• Teamed with Luciana Perry for a 6-3 win over No. 55 Ece Gencer/Ida Clement from Purdue and a 6-4 decision against No. 84 Ale Teodosescu and Hi’lani Williams from Indiana 
• Earns second Freshman of the Week honor of the season 
• Last Ohio State Freshman of the Week: Hephzibah Oluwadare (Feb. 11, 2026)
