Wisconsin Claims Women’s Tennis Weekly Award
Badgers’ Sholokhova earns women’s tennis weekly award

Maria Sholokhova, Wisconsin
Jr. – Sochi, Russia
- Won the ITA All-American Singles Championship, becoming the first Badger to win an ITA All-American Championship
- Ranked No. 44 in the ITA Poll, Sholokhova made history as the first man or woman from Wisconsin to win the tournament. She is the program's fourth singles All-American and the first since Barbara Urbanska in 1998
- Going on a 6-0 run, Sholokhova took down two top-10 ranked players, No. 1 Mary Stoaina (6-4, 6-3) and No. 6 Savannah Broadus (7-6, 6-1). She defeated Elza Tomase (6-3, 6-3) to earn the title of 2024 ITA All-American Champion
- With the win, Sholokhova will be an automatic qualifier for the 2024 NCAA Individual Championships, which will take place in Waco, Texas on Nov. 19-24
