ITA Announces Preseason Top 25
Three Big Ten teams among preseason rankings
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Three Big Ten schools have earned spots in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division I Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll. Michigan is ranked fifth, Ohio State 14th and Wisconsin 23rd.
Michigan captured the 2023 Big Ten championship and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals for the second time in program history. Ranked 10th nationally, Kari Miller turned in a strong fall campaign, going 13-3 in singles play and an 8-3 mark in doubles action with Jaedan Brown and Piper Charney.
Ohio State finished the 2023 campaign 22-8 overall and advanced to the NCAA Super Regional as part of its ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. In the ITA rankings, the Buckeyes have two ranked singles players and two ranked doubles teams heading into the spring slate.
The Badgers finished the 2023 season 20-7 overall and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019. Wisconsin has a pair of singles players among the ITA rankings and a ranked doubles team.
