USC and UCLA Claim Women’s Tennis Weekly Awards

Player of the Week 
Lily Fairclough, USC 
So. – Perth, Western Australia – Major: Communication 

• Went 4-0 over the weekend, winning both of her singles and doubles matches, delivering the clinch over Iowa to help USC to a 2-0 weekend and record a pair of Big Ten sweeps (4-0 against Nebraska and Iowa) 
• Played at No. 1 doubles with Grace Piper, clinching the doubles point in both matches 
• Defeated Tiziana Rossini in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles against Nebraska and defeated Barbora Pokorna in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4 singles against Iowa to clinch the win for USC, her first clinch of the season 
• Last USC Player of the Week: Jana Hossam (Oct. 9, 2024) 

Freshman of the Week 
Kate Fakih, UCLA 
Pasadena, Calif. – Connections Academy  

• Turned in a 2-0 singles record and a 1-0 doubles showing as the Bruins earned a pair of road wins vs. Nebraska and Iowa  
• Clinched 4-0 win against Nebraska, beating Tiziana Rossini, 6-0, 7-5, on Court 4  
• With partner Olivia Center, overcame 3-5 deficit versus Reya Lee Coe/Emma Rizzetto of Nebraska to prevail 7-5 in deciding doubles match on Court 2 
• Gave UCLA a 2-0 lead versus Iowa, defeating Barbara Pokorna, 6-1, 6-2 
• Earns second consecutive Freshman of the Week honor and fifth of the season 
• Last UCLA Freshman of the Week: Kate Fakih (April 9, 2025)
