Ohio State and Penn State Claim Women’s Tennis Weekly Awards

Player of the Week 
Luciana Perry, Ohio State 
So. – Export, Pa. – Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School – Major: Psychology  

• Led the Buckeyes to two team ranked wins with a 2-0 singles record against ranked opponents on court two and a ranked win on court one doubles 
• Posted a straight set win over No. 78 Kimmi Hance of No. 24 UCLA to put the Buckeyes up 2-0 and then downed No. 69 Emma Charney in straight sets vs. No. 14 USC to provide the clinching point 
• Perry and Teah Chavez downed No. 3 Olivia Center and Kate Fakih of UCLA in a tiebreaker (7-6 (0)) to clinch the doubles point 
• Perry leads the Buckeyes with 24 overall singles wins this year and shares the team lead with 10 dual singles victories

Freshman of the Week 
Patricia Grigoras, Penn State 
Middle Village, N.Y. – Major: Psychology  

• Picked up a pivotal singles win in Penn State’s 4-3 win over No. 14 USC on Friday 
• Defeated Lily Fairclough on court three, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1, helping Penn State to its highest ranked win in at least 20 years 
• Paired with Jordina Cegarra to take down Jana Hossam and Sloane Morra, 7-5, to clinch the doubles point 
• Against No. 24 UCLA on Sunday, Grigoras led No. 38 Kate Fakih, 6-4, 5-3 before the match went unfinished
