Indiana, Northwestern and Ohio State Garner Field Hockey Honors

ROSEMONT, lll. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its weekly field hockey awards for games played Oct. 3-5.
Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Mijntje Hagen, Indiana
So. – F – Zeist, Netherlands – KSG de Breul
- Tied an Indiana record with a hat trick in the Hoosiers’ 5-0 win over UC Davis on Friday
- Scored three goals on three shots during a 26-minute span in the second half
- Added an assist for a seven-point performance, matching the third-highest, single-game points total in program history
- Earns her first career Big Ten Offensive Player award
- Last Indiana player chosen Offensive Player of the Week: Maddie Latino (Sept. 11, 2017)
Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Makenna Webster, Ohio State
Gr. – F – St. Louis, Mo. – Wisconsin
- Scored the overtime game-winner in Ohio State’s 2-1 upset of No. 11 Maryland in Columbus on Friday
- Netted a second-half insurance goal to help Ohio State to a 2-0 win over Penn State, marking the Buckeyes’ first three-game win streak in the series
- Raised her season goal total to 16, which ranks third-best in the nation
- Collects her second offensive award of the season and the fifth of her career
- Last Ohio State Offensive Player of the Week honoree: Makenna Webster (Sept. 2, 2025)
Defensive Player of the Week
Ilse Tromp, Northwestern
Jr. – B/M – Rotterdam, Netherlands – Laurens Lyceum Rotterdam
- Excelled on both ends of the field in Northwestern’s 3-1 come-from-behind win over No. 10 Iowa on the road
- Helped the Wildcats defense limit the Hawkeyes to six shots on goal and below their goal-scoring average (4.00)
- Offensively, Tromp contributed two goals in a 17-minute time span, tying the game in the third quarter and providing the game-winner with 10:28 left in regulation
- Leads top-ranked Northwestern in goals (11) and game-winning goals (five)
- Last Wildcat to receive Defensive Player accolade: Juliana Boon (Sept. 22, 2025)
Freshman of the Week
Juliana Boon, Northwestern
R-Fr. – G – Houston, Texas – St. John’s School
- Made five saves on six shots in a 3-1 win over No. 10 Iowa, extending Northwestern’s regular-season conference win streak to 22 games
- Held the Hawkeyes scoreless for the last 49 minutes of the game
- Leads the NCAA in goals-against average (0.30), saves percentage (.912) and wins (10)
- Adds a Freshman of the Week honor to a pair of Defensive Player awards already won this season
- Last Northwestern player named Freshman of the Week: Nadia Nemeth (Sept. 23, 2024)
