Iowa, Maryland, Rutgers Bestowed Weekly Field Hockey Honors

ROSEMONT, lll. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its weekly field hockey awards for games played Oct. 28-Nov. 2.
Offensive Player of the Week
Dionne van Aalsum, Iowa
Jr. – M – Castricum, Netherlands – Bonhoeffer College
- Registered a hat trick in Iowa’s 3-2 double overtime win over Ohio State on Oct. 31 in Columbus, Ohio
- Netted the game-winning goal with 5:20 left in the second overtime
- The win elevated Iowa to a second-place tie in the Big Ten standings
- Has goals in 14 of 16 games this season; leads the NCAA in goals (26) and points (54)
- The two-time All-Big Ten performer earns her third offensive player award of the season and the seventh of her career
Defensive Player of the Week
Alyssa Klebasko, Maryland
Jr. – G – Odenton, Md. – Garrison Forest
- Posted a 1.00 goals-against average and .833 save percentage (stopping 10 of 12 shots) as No. 11 Maryland reached double-figures in wins on the season
- Recorded her sixth shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over Northeastern on Nov. 2
- Made eight saves against No. 4 Virginia and turned away two shots versus Northeastern
- Sports the third-best career GAA (1.01) in program history
- Last Terrapin named Defensive Player of the Week: Josie Hollamon (Oct. 13, 2025)
Freshman of the Week
Olivia de Zwaan, Rutgers
Fr. – F – Baarn, Netherlands – Het Baarnsch Lyceum
- Contributed a goal in Rutgers’ 4-2 road win against Penn State on Oct. 31
- Scored the game-winner just 4:10 into the game, giving the No. 18 Scarlet Knights a lead they didn’t relinquished
- The win secured a spot for Rutgers in the Big Ten Tournament for the 10th-straight year
- Becomes third Rutgers rookie to earn Freshman of the Week accolades
