BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — No. 3 seed Iowa, No. 4 seed Michigan and No. 7 seed Ohio State won quarterfinal games on Thursday as the 2025 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament presented by Allstate opened on the campus of Indiana University.

Friday's semifinals will feature Michigan (10-6) taking on No. 1 seed Northwestern (16-1) at 1 p.m. ET and Ohio State (8-9) meeting Iowa (13-4) at 4 p.m. ET. Both games will be carried live by the Big Ten Network.

Michigan 2, Rutgers 1 (2OT)
Abby Burnett provided the game-winning goal with 4:38 left in the second overtime to lift 15th-ranked Michigan to a win in Coach Kristi Gannon Fisher's tournament debut. The victory was also Michigan's 43rd tourney win, the most of any school. Just minutes earlier, Puck Winter made a spectator defensive save for 17th-ranked Rutgers (9-9), moving into a share of the all-time Big Ten lead for that stat category.

Ohio State 2, Maryland 1
Ohio State received goals from Anne Marie Krebs and Katie Fichtner to record the first upset of the tournament. The 11th-ranked Terrapins (10-8) were held scoreless on eight penalty corners as they lost for the second time this season to the Buckeyes by the same score.

Iowa 1, Indiana 0
In the first game played under the lights at Deborah Tobias Field, ninth-ranked Iowa scored six minutes into the contest and held on to defeat an 18th-ranked Indiana (9-9) team that had won four of its last five games. Dionne van Aalsum, the nation's leading goal scorer, notched her 27th of the season as Iowa won for the third time in Bloomington this season.
