BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Top seed Northwestern and No. 3 seed Iowa have advanced to the championship game of the 2025 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament presented by Allstate. Both teams won semifinal games Friday afternoon at Deborah Tobias Field. Sunday's championship match will begin at 12 p.m. ET and be carried on the Big Ten Network.
Northwestern 5, Michigan 3
In a rematch of last year's championship game, second-ranked Northwestern (17-1) prevailed over 15th-ranked Michigan in the highest-scoring Big Ten Tournament game since 2018. Northwestern also matched its school record for goals in a tournament game, a mark which dates back to 1981. Grace Schulze compiled five points (2 goals, assist) as NU qualified for its fourth-straight final. Splitting time in the cage, goalkeeper Hala Silverstein finished with five saves for the Wolverines (10-7).
Iowa 3, Ohio State 1
Frederique van Cleef had a hand in all three goals (two goals, assist) for ninth-ranked Iowa (14-4), which earned a berth into the Big Ten Tournament final for the first time in six seasons. Ohio State (8-10) struck first on Makenna Webster's 59th career goal, scored just four minutes into the contest. Iowa held OSU scoreless from that point on to improve to 4-0 this season in Bloomington.
