Northwestern and Iowa Qualify for NCAA Field Hockey Tournament
NCAA Postseason begins Friday for the Wildcats and Hawkeyes

ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Big Ten Conference will send a pair of teams to the 2025 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship as the tournament field was announced Sunday evening. Northwestern earned an automatic berth while Iowa received an at-large bid.
Opening round matches of the NCAA Tournament begin Wednesday (Nov. 12) with First and Second Round games slated for Friday (Nov. 14) and Sunday (Nov. 16) respectively. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
Second-ranked Northwestern (18-1), which won the Big Ten Tournament presented by Allstate on Sunday along with the Big Ten Championship, will take on 16th-ranked Yale (12-5) on Friday, at 2:30 p.m. ET at Turf Field in Charlottesville, Va. Northwestern is making its 21st NCAA Tournament appearance, having qualified for seven-straight seasons.
Ninth-ranked Iowa (14-5), which appeared in the Big Ten Tournament Final, will face eighth-ranked Duke (12-7) on Friday at 2:30 p.m. ET at Karen Shelton Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Hawkeyes are appearing in their 29th NCAA postseason and for the seventh time in eight years.
Four of the 18 teams in the bracket will advance to the NCAA Semifinals scheduled for Nov. 21 at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium in Durham, N.C. The NCAA Final will take place on Nov. 23. All four games from Championship Weekend will air on ESPNU.
