Bracket Released For 2024 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament
Northwestern seeded No. 1 for tournament’s 32nd edition
ROSEMONT, lll. – The field is set for the 2024 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament following the conclusion of conference play on Friday. The single-elimination tournament, hosted by the University of Maryland, runs Thursday through Sunday (Nov. 7-10) at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex in College Park, Md.
Northwestern earned the No. 1 seed after clinching the Big Ten Championship with an 8-0 conference record en route to the program’s first undefeated regular season (18-0).
A look at the Big Ten Tournament bracket (all times are Eastern):
Thursday, Nov. 7, Quarterfinals (B1G+)
Game #1 (11 a.m.) — No. 4 seed Rutgers (7-8) vs. No. 5 seed Ohio State (13-4)
Game #2 (2 p.m.) — No. 2 seed Maryland (12-5) vs. No. 7 seed Iowa (9-8)
Game #3 (5 p.m.) — No. 3 seed Michigan (12-4) vs. No. 6 seed Indiana (9-8)
Friday, Nov. 8, Semifinals (BTN)
Game #4 (1 p.m.) — No. 1 seed Northwestern (18-0) vs. Game #1 winner
Game #5 (3:30 p.m.) — Game #2 winner vs. Game #3 winner
Sunday, Nov. 10, Championship (BTN)
Game #6 (11 a.m.) — Game #4 winner vs. Game #5 winner
Six teams are ranked in this week’s Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll. Northwestern is the nation’s top-ranked team followed by Ohio State (fourth), Maryland (seventh), Michigan (eighth), Iowa (16th) and Rutgers (20th). The regular season closes Sunday with Ohio State hosting Central Michigan.
