Six Big Ten Teams Ranked in the NFHCA Top 20 Preseason Poll

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Coming off a season that saw three Big Ten teams advance to the NCAA Semifinals, the Big Ten is once home to some of the best field hockey programs in the nation.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has released its national preseason poll and five Big Ten teams are ranked among the Top 7 spots. Northwestern, which reached the 2022 NCAA Championship Game, is ranked second, followed by Maryland (third), Michigan (fourth), Penn State (fifth) and Iowa (seventh) -- schools that all appeared in the NCAA Tournament last season. Rutgers, ranked 16th, gives the Big Ten six teams in the Top 20.
