Northwestern Defeats Duke To Reach NCAA Championship Game

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Second-seeded Northwestern received goals from first-year Ilse Tromp and junior Regan Cornelius to post a 2-1 victory over third seed Duke in the semifinals of the NCAA Field Hockey Championships Friday afternoon.
Northwestern (21-1) will meet No. 1 seed North Carolina (17-3) in the NCAA Championship Game Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET at Karen Shelton Stadium. The game will be televised by ESPNU.
NU will be playing in its third-straight NCAA Final, having lost to UNC last year after capturing the 2021 national championship. Coach Tracey Fuchs’ squad will bring a 21-game winning streak into Sunday’s match.
