Johns Hopkins, Ohio State and Penn State Garner Weekly Men’s Lacrosse Merits

Blue Jays’ Chauvette, DeCicco and Gelinas, Buckeyes’ Brown and Nittany Lions’ Iannantuono win weekly awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Lacrosse Awards for 
the week of Feb. 24th  - March 3rd, 2026.  

Offensive Players of the Week 
Hunter Chauvette, Johns Hopkins 
Junior – Attack – Shaker Heights, Ohio – Major: Political Science 

  • Fueled the Blue Jays’ 14-13 come-from-behind win over Virginia as he matched his career-high with six goals in the victory 
  • Four of his goals came during a 10-1 Blue Jay run that turned an 11-4 deficit into a 14-12 lead late 
  • Last Johns Hopkins Offensive Player of the Week Award: Russell Melendez (Feb. 25, 2025) 

Defensive Player of the Week 
Cullen Brown, Ohio State 
Senior – D– Silver Spring, Md.– Major: Finance 

  • Led the team with seven ground balls in the 10-9 win over No. 11 Georgetown  
  • Added a caused turnover in the Buckeyes’ first ranked win of the season 
  • Scored his first goal of the season in the second half 
  • This marks Brown’s second Defensive Player of the Week award this season. Last: Feb. 3, 2026 

Reece DiCicco, Johns Hopkins 
Sophomore – SSDM– Guelph, Ontario – Major: Political Science 

  • Played an instrumental role in Johns Hopkins’ 14-13 comeback win against Virginia 
  • Tied his own school record for caused turnovers in a game by a short stick with four 
  • Tacked on five groundballs in the comeback effort  
  • Last Johns Hopkins Defensive Player of the Week award: Beaudan Szuluk (April 16, 2024) 

Specialist of the Week 
Oran Gelinas, Johns Hopkins 
Senior – Goalie – Owing Mills, Md. – Major: Psychology

  • Gelinas came on in relief and fueled Johns Hopkins' 14-13 come-from-behind win at Virginia 
  • He entered the game with the Blue Jays trailing 4-0 and posted 12 saves over the final 50:52 to grab the victory 
  • Among his 12 saves were nine in the second half and five in the fourth quarter, when the Blue Jays outscored the Cavaliers 6-1 to complete the comeback from an 11-4 third-quarter deficit 
  • Last Johns Hopkins Specialist of the Week Award: Joe Hobot (Feb. 17, 2026) 

Freshman of the Week 
Jack Iannantuono, Penn State 
Freshman – Attack – Phoenix, Md. – Major: Division of Undergraduate Studies 

  • The freshman posted a career-best six points to lead the Penn State offense to a ten-goal victory 
  • His six points match the most by any Penn Stater so far this season 
  • Averages the seventh-most assists per game of any freshman in the country 
  • Last Penn State Freshman of the Week Award: Preston Hawkins (Feb. 17, 2026)
