Johns Hopkins, Ohio State, and Penn State Claim Weekly Men’s Lacrosse Accolades

Blue Jays’ Rawson, Buckeyes’ Brown and Allen and Nittany Lions’ Hawkins and King win weekly awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Lacrosse Awards for 
the week of March 17th- 24th, 2026.  

Offensive Players of the Week 
Chuck Rawson, Johns Hopkins 
Junior – Midfield – Burlington, Ontario – Major: Economics 

  • Helped power the Blue Jays to a 14-8 win against Michigan in its Big Ten opener 
  • Scored a career-high four goals and added an assist to match his personal best with five points 
  • Scored back-to-back goals after Michigan had pulled within 11-6 midway through the fourth quarter 
  • Last Johns Hopkins Offensive Player of the Week Award: Hunter Chauvette (March 3, 2026) 

Co-Defensive Players of the Week 
Cullen Brown, Ohio State 
Senior – Defense – Silver Spring, Md. – Major: Finance 

  • Caused four turnovers and picked up four ground balls in the Buckeyes’ 6-5 overtime win over No. 16 Rutgers 
  • Was a part of a defensive unit that helped hold Big Ten leading scorer Colin Kurdyla to just one goal on seven shots 
  • His defensive performance put him at 75 career caused turnovers and in sole possession of the program’s career caused turnover record 
  • Brown’s third Defensive Player of the Week award. Last: March 3, 2026 

Jon King, Penn State 
Senior – SSDM – Draper, Utah – Major: Accounting 

  • Helped limit Maryland to just six goals in Penn State’s fifth win over the Terps’ in program history 
  • Scooped three groundballs and caused a pair turnovers as a short-stick 
  • Last Penn State Defensive Player of the Week award: Alex Ross (March 10, 2026)  

Specialist of the Week 
Jack Allen, Ohio State 
Junior – Goalie – Cambridge, England – Major: Sport Industry 

  • Recorded his first career win in the team’s 6-5 victory at No. 16 Rutgers 
  • Played a career high 39:05 and recorded a career high 10 saves 
  • Only allowed two goals on the day for a .833 save percentage 
  • Last Ohio State Specialist of the Week award: Jack Oldman (Feb. 10, 2026)  

Freshman of the Week 
Preston Hawkins, Penn State 
Freshman – Goalie – Powell, Ohio – Major: Division of Undergraduate Studies 

  • Posted 14 saves in a win over No. 11 Maryland 
  • His .700 save percentage was also a career best 
  • Saved all six of Terrapins lead attackmen Eric Spanos’ shots  
  • Marks Hawkins’ third Freshman of the Week award this season. Last: March 10, 2026
