Johns Hopkins, Maryland and Penn State Claim Lacrosse Awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its men’s lacrosse player awards for games played April 13-14.
Offensive Player of the Week
TJ Malone, Penn State
Gr. – A — West Chester, Pa. — The Haverford School
Recorded seven points (five goals, two assists) in leading No. 11 Penn State to a 14-8 win over Michigan on April 13 in University Park, Pa.
Scored goals 31 seconds apart (as part of a second-period hat trick) and 25 seconds apart in the third period, extending his goal-scoring streak to 44 games
Leads the Big Ten with 56 points and ranks third in the NCAA in points per game (5.60)
The 2023 All-Big Ten First Team selection collects his second Big Ten Offensive Player Award of the season and the third of his career

Beaudan Szuluk, Johns Hopkins

Helped No. 5 Johns Hopkins to an 11-10 overtime win at Ohio State, giving the Blue Jays a share of the Big Ten Championship
Part of a defensive group that held Ohio State to three goals in the second half as Johns Hopkins rallied from a five-goal deficit
Caused a turnover in overtime that led to the game-winning goal and became the school’s career leader in that category (67)
The Big Ten Distinguished Scholar receives his third defensive award of the season and his career

Made a season-high 15 saves in holding the Scarlet Knights to their lowest goal total of the season
Gathered a game-high seven ground balls while limiting Rutgers to a pair of goals in the second half
The three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection earns his second Specialist award of the season and the fifth of his career

Provided the game-winning goal with 13:15 left in the third quarter and secured a team-high three ground balls
Collects his second Big Ten Freshman award of the season
