Ohio State, Penn State Claim Weekly Men’s Lacrosse Accolades

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Lacrosse Awards for the week of March 4^th-11^th 2025.  

Offensive Players of the Week 
Alex Marinier, Ohio State 
Senior – Attack – Burlington, Ontario – Major: Finance 

• Marinier led the Buckeyes with three goals and an assist for four points in the 10-9 win over No. 2 Notre Dame
• The game was his fifth hat trick and sixth multi-goal game of the year
• Also scooped up a groundball in the winning effort
• Marinier’s second Offensive Player of the Week Award. Last: Feb 18, 2025 

Defensive Player of the Week 
Alex Ross, Penn State 
Junior – LSM –Bel Air, Md. – Major: Philosophy, Politics, & Economics 

• Tallied his first career goal in Penn State's upset win over no. 3 Cornell in overtime
• Caused two turnovers and collected one ground ball on the defensive end
• Led a defensive effort that held Cornell to a tied season-low of 12 goals
• Last Penn State Defensive Player of the Week Award: Jack McDonald (February 24, 2025) 

Specialist of the Week 
Jack Oldman, Ohio State 
Sophomore – Face-off – Pickering, Ontario – Major: Mechanical Engineering 

• Oldman went 13-for-22 (.591) from the faceoff X against All-American Will Lynch in the Buckeyes' 10-9 win over No. 2 Notre Dame
• Also picked up 11 ground balls in the game
• His performance at the dot made the Buckeyes the first team to win over 50% against the Fighting Irish this year
• Last Ohio State Specialist of the Week Award: Will Costin (April 23, 2024) 

Freshman of the Week 
Hunter Aquino, Penn State 
Freshman – Midfield – Easton, Pa. – Major: Kinesiology 

• Tallied four goals and one assist in comeback win over No. 3 Cornell
• His final two assists came on the game-tying goal in regulation and the game-winning goal in overtime
• Aquino also secured two ground balls
• Aquino’s third Freshman of the Week Award. Last: March 4, 2025
